Greens destination advertising on homosexual hook-up application Grindr ahead of 2014 county election

Their state election is just about the final thing on gay men’s brains when theyare looking for casual sex.
But in what exactly is thought to be an Australian first, the vegetables will advertise on gay hook-up app Grindr, concentrating on voters in marginal and varied seat of Prahran.
Greens candidate for Prahran Sam Hibbins mentioned the smartphone app, which connects boys for informal intercourse, is an innovative way of achieving the gay people.
“it includes us a platform in which we could achieve the homosexual society in Prahran,” the 30-year-old Stonnington councillor said.
From 10 pm this evening, the geo-located ads will pop up whenever Grindr people in Prahran, Windsor, South Yarra and St Kilda East log on to the software.
The initial post will receive Grindr users to a pre-election occasion a few weeks with Mr Hibbins and Senator Sarah Hanson-Young at change, a favorite South Yarra gay club.
While he cannot use the software themselves, Mr Hibbins said the veggies didn’t have a ton of money for campaigning together with party needed to be brilliant using its advertising budget.
“if the opportunity to market on Grindr emerged we got about it. It actually was this way to be in a position to micro-target a gathering that has been really important.”
While it is unknown just how many homosexual boys inhabit the Liberal seat, the latest census facts suggests that 6.6 per-cent of Prahran partners were same-sex, as is 6.4 percent of those in Windsor. (more…)
